Andrey Borisovich Putyato, Director of the Shturman Center:

Nowadays a lot of centers for improving driving skills offer their services of personal drivers and drivers-safeguards training. However, every time we meet drivers who had taken such course, we must confess that their skill level leaves much to be desired. To put it differently, they don`t stand out among others. Why is it so? It may be the "assembly line with no QC" effect. It may also be due to the fact that instructors at most schools are former autosportsmen whose training methods are perfect for competitions but have significant drawbacks when teaching safe driving skills in the city.

Sport driving has many peculiarities, the major two of which are:
  • special cars;
  • competition routes closed for other vehicles t and pedestrians.

Sport style of driving and dynamic city driving differ drastically. For this reason, only few sportsmen, who are very skillful on sport routes, show proficiency and competency when driving in the city.

Moreover, unlike autosportsmen, personal drivers and drivers-safeguards have the duty of providing their client`s safety.

Shturman`s approach puts the personal driver and the driver-safeguard higher than the autosportsman and takes a different look at the quality of their training.
